Al-Irsyad Mosque

Holy Ramadhan is coming! I usually perfom Taraweeh at Masjid Al-Irsyad the nearest local mosque. It’s a beautiful building designed by Mr. Ridwan Kamil. He said he just simply wish to build a mosque without complicated ornaments. Inspired by Ka’bah the mosque has a box shape, the wall caligraphed with Syahadat sentence from the brick holes so we can see the sentence from the lights coming from inside or outside. The ceiling has 99 lamps decorated by 99 Asmaul Husna.

Entering the masjid, your eyes soon recognize the open mimbar facing the mountain. It has pond beneath and a large solid ball engraved “Allah”. Subhanallah… Come here and do Salah/Prayer, Insya Allah you feel the calm for its peaceful ambience.

Intro

Assalamu’alaikum!

Hello, I’m an Indonesian female with travelling dreams. I can not go anywhere I want considering what I must do here for living so that’s why I call “dreams”. But in a year I usually spend a bit of my time for a journey which I enjoy it so much. I like travelling, taking pictures and writing something related.

So then I decided to make another blog, specialized for travelling stories only. Anyone can post a story too, write yours to my e-mail address : diahrismayanti@gmail.com. Stories may include your journey experiences, muslim community in some place (oh I love to read and see muslim lifes outside Indonesia), mosque, Islamic historical building, tips and trick, halal restaurants information and some others. English or Indonesian stories are welcome. So let’s share.

Salaam :)
